There are many kinds of gas meters. According to the different shell materials, they can be divided into steel shell gas meters and aluminum shell gas meters. So, in addition to their differences in price, what are their differences in other aspects?

Generally speaking, for two kinds of gas meters of the same model, the gas meter with steel shell is slightly larger than that with aluminum shell, and the internal space is also large; The steel shell gas meter generally adopts an independent movement, and the lower shell can precipitate the impurities or water in the gas, while the aluminum shell gas meter is integrated with the movement, with small internal space and high requirements for gas quality. Aluminum case gas meter has excellent corrosion resistance and stronger stability; The steel shell gas meter is not only resistant to high temperature and corrosion, but also economic, environmental protection and safety.

Domestic steel shell gas meters have become more and more since about 2005. The main products of several large factories in the industry are basically changed from aluminum shell gas meters to steel shell gas meters. There are three main reasons.

1. The electrostatic spraying process level of the external surface of the steel shell meter has reached a new level, which fully meets the requirements of the ultra long service life of the gas meter;

2. With the increasing market competition, the cost of aluminum alloy is higher than that of steel plate. The use of steel shell can effectively improve the competitiveness of products at a lower cost, so as to increase the profit margin of enterprises;

3. Before and after 2005, IC card gas meters have become mainstream products, and motor valves must be installed in intelligent IC card gas meters to achieve the function of prepayment.

Generally speaking, their operation principle is the same, and they are produced according to the same national standard. The ultimate purpose is to measure the gas used by users.
